(-23) THE PILOT HAD LOST CONTROL OF THE A/C ON LANDING ROLL-OUT DUE TO GUSTING CROSSWINDS. R/H GEAR BROKE FROM A/C, R/H WING CONTACTED THE GROUND AND BOTH PROPELLER BLADES ARE CURLED BACK FROM CONTACTING THE GROUND. THE R/H WING OUTBOARD 5 1/2 FEET IS BENT UPWARD AND BOTH FRONT AND REAR SPARS ARE FAILED.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB SEA99LA076](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/SEA99LA076), May 21, 1999: Cessna A185E (N50AU), Othello, WA, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot's inadequate compensation for wind conditions after landing. Factors include gusty winds.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
