## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) ON MAY 23, 1999 THE NOSE LANDING GEAR COLLAPSED SHORTLY AFTER LANDING. THE ATP RATED PILOT HAD CONFIRMED THE LANDING GEAR TO BE DOWN AND LOCKED, ALL THREE GREEN DOWN INDICATOR LIGHT WERE ON. THE LANDING GEAR SELECTOR HANDLE WAS FOUND TO BE SLIGHTLY OUT OF THE DOWN POSITION. THE LANDING GEAR FUNCTIONED NORMALLY WHEN TESTED AFTER THE INCIDENT. WHEN THE LANDING GEAR HANDLE WAS PLACED IN THE POSITION ORIGINALLY FOUND, THE NOSE GEAR DID NOT FREE FALL TO THE DOWN AND LOCKED POSITION. NO APPARENT DEFECTS WERE FOUND. THIS INCIDENT IS CLOSED.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
