## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) THE A/C WAS INSPECTED FOR AIRWORTHINESS ISSUES. NO PROBLEMS WERE FOUND WITH THE FUEL, IGNITION, OR INTAKE SYSTEM. THERE WAS NO VISIBLE DAMAGE TO THE BRAKES SUGGESTING A DRAGGING BRAKE. THE PILOT STATED THAT HE LEFT THE FLAPS UP UNTIL ROTATION WHEN HE LOWERED THEM TO DEGREES. HIS AIRSPEED WAS 55 MPH. THE PILOT ALSO STATED THAT HE ABORTED THE TAKEOFF WHEN HE REALIZED HE COULD NOT CLIMB ENOUGH TO CLEAR THE TREES BEYOND THE AIRFIELD.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB SEA99LA069](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/SEA99LA069), May 23, 1999: Piper PA-28-140 (N6216W), Lyman, WA, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot-in-command's improper execution of takeoff procedures, and his delay in aborting the takeoff. Contributing factors were the fence post and trees.

## Other reports on N6216W (1)

Matched to the same aircraft by N-number and date.

- [Incident 19900506014169I](https://openairdocs.org/incident/19900506014169I), May 6, 1990: Piper PA28140 (N6216W), Livermore, CA, Minor damage. Student lost directional control on a crosswind landing. Veered off runway into a ditch.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
