## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-5)AIRCRAFT GROUNDLOOPED UPON TAKEOFF. PILOT WAS DEPARTING 3T5 ON RUNWAY 16 ENROUTE TO DAVID WAYNE HOOKS WHEN HE APPLIED TOO MUCH POWER TOO QUICKLY. THE PILOT CLAIMED THAT THERE WAS A SLIGHT QUARTERING TAILWIND FROM THE EAST THAT COMBINED WITH HIS RAPID POWER APPLICATION AND CAUSED HIM TO RUN OFF THE LEFT SIDE OF THE RUNWAY. THE LEFT MAIN GEAR WAS IN STILL CONNECTED BUT DAMAGED ALONG WITH A CRACKED PROP AND LEFT WINGTIP SKIN DAMAGE. THERE WAS ALSO DAMAGE THAT OCCURED TO THE FUEL VENT THAT IS LOCATED ON THE UNDERSIDE OF THE FUSELAGE IN THE AREA OF THE FIREWALL. THERE WERE NO INJURIES OR DAMAGE TO ANY AIRPORT LIGHTING.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
