## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

ON JUNE 10TH, 1999 AT 1110 AM MDT, MR. DAN HOWARD LANDED HIS CESSNA 320B, N9840L, AT THE ST. GEORGE AIRPORT (SGU). MR HOWARD REPORTED THE LANDING AS NORMAL. DURING THE LANDING ROLL-OUT THE AIRCRAFT EXPERIENCED A SEVERE SHIMMY IN THE NOSE GEAR. SHORTLY AFTER THE SHIMMY BEGAN THE NOSE GEAR COLLAPSED AND THE TWO ROTATING PROPELLERS STRUCK THE RUNWAY, CAUSING DAMAGE TO THEM, AND THE POWERPLANTS. THE FOWARD LOWER SKINS, AND THE LEFT AND RIGHT FORMER ASSEMBLIES WERE ALSO DAMAGED FROM THE COLLAPSED GEAR. AN INVESTIGATION REVEALED THAT THE NOSE GEAR DRAG BRACE HAD FAILED "SNAPPED" ON BOTH ENDS AT THE BOLT HOLES. AN M&D HAS BEEN INITIATED.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
