## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

THE FLIGHT, CONDUCTED BY THE OWNER/PILOT, WAS OPERATED UNDER 14 CFR PART 137. AFTER DEPARTING THE OAKES, ND AIRPORT AND CONDUCTING AERIAL APPLICATION, THE PILOT RETURNED TO THE OAKES, ND AIRPORT WITH APPROXIMATELY 300 GALLONS OF CHEMICAL/WATER MIXTURE ONBOARD THE AIRCRAFT. DURING THE APPROACH TO LANDING IN GUSTY WINDS, THE AIRCRAFT SETTLED ONTO THE RUNWAY IN A HARD LANDING, DURING WHICH THE LEFT MAIN GEAR COLLAPSED AFTER FAILING IN TWO SEPARATE LOCATIONS ON THE GEAR LEG. THE MANUFACTURER HAS DESIGNED A NEW LANDING GEAR ASSEMBLY THAT IS SUBSTANTIALLY STRONGER. THE OWNER WAS UNAWARE OF THE NEWLY DESIGNED AND AVAILABLE LANDING GEAR UNTIL THIS ACCIDENT. THE NEW GEAR IS BEING INSTALLED. THERE WERE NO INJURIES AND THERE WAS MINOR DAMAGE TO THE AIRCRAFT.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
