LUCIE COUNTY INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT, FLORIDA. VISUAL METEOROLOGICAL CONDITIONS PREVAILED AND NO FLIGHT PLAN WAS FILED. THE AIRCRAFT SUSTAINED SUBSTANTIAL DAMAGE DUE TO COLLISION WITH POWER LINES AND THE PRIVATE-RATED PILOT, THE SOLE OCCUPANT, WAS NOT INJURED. THE FLIGHT ORIGINATED ABOUT 1 HOUR 4 MINUTES BEFORE THE ACCIDENT. ACCORDING TO FORT PIERCE FAA CONTROL TOWER PERSONNEL, THE PILOT RADIOED AT 1002 THAT HE WAS A POSSIBLE EMERGENCY DUE TO LOW FUEL AND SHORTLY THEREAFTER, ADVISED THAT HE COULD NOT MAKE THE FIELD AND WAS LANDING ON I-95. HE STATED HE WAS 90 PERCENT SURE THAT THE PROBLEM WAS A CLOGGED FUEL FEED SYSTEM. (-23)SEE ATTACHED
