## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

ON APPROACH TO RDM FROM BAKERSFIELD, CA PILOT HEARD A "BANG" WHEN EXTENDING GEAR. NOSE GEAR DID NOT SHOW GREEN. TOWER CONFIRMED LACK OF EXTENSION. PILOT REVIEWED CHECKLIST, CIRCLED AIRPORT TO USE FUEL TO 10 GAL. THEN PERFORMED CONTROLLED LANDING. BUTLER AIRCRAFT CO. INSPECTED A/C AND FOUND NOSE WHEEL FENDER JAMMED IN TOP OF WHEEL WELL AGAINST UPLOCK HOOK LINKAGE. RETRACT ROD FITTING FAILED APPARENTLY WHEN LINKAGE WAS ACTUATED AND GEAR WOULD NOT RELEASE. FOUND A/C WITHIN ANNUAL INSPECTION AND NO RECENT MAINTENANCE ON NOSE GEAR FAIRING. MINOR STRUCTURAL DAMAGE TO RADOME, GEAR DOORS AND R/H FWD FUSELAGE. ALL PROPELLER BLADES BENT. M OR D REQUESTED FROM BUTLER A/C CO. 6/30/99.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
