## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) ON THURSDAY, JUNE 24, 1999 AT 0737 EDT, A BA JETSTREAM 3201, N488UE, FLIGHT 7319, OPERATED BY ATLANTIC COAST AIRLINES, DURING CLIMB FROM SYRACUSE INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT IN SYRACUSE, NY EXPERIENCED A LEFT ENGINE SHUT-DOWN. THE AIRCRAFT DIVERTED TO ELMIRA AIRPORT. A LANDING WAS ACCOMPLISHED WITHOUT FURTHER INCIDENT. THERE WERE NO INJURIES. FIRE AND RESCUE RESPONDED. THE AIRCRAFT FUEL SYSTEM WAS INSPECTED FOR CONTAMINATION. AN OPERATIONAL CHECK OF FUEL SHUTOFF VALVES, GROUND RUNS TO CHECK POWER SETTINGS AND A MAINTENANCE ACCEPTANCE FLIGHT WAS PERFORMED. THE PROBLEM COULD NOT BE DUPLICATED. THE AIRCRAFT RETURNED TO SERVICE. THIS INCIDENT IS CONSIDERED CLOSED.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
