## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) IGL19990024 - UPON EXTENDING THE LANDING GEAR FOR ARRIVAL IN SPI, THE NOSE GEAR INDICATED "UNLOCKED". THE CREW CYCLED THE GEAR SEVERAL TIMES WITH NO IMPROVEMENT. AFTER DISCUSSING THE SITUATION WITH COMPANY MAINTENANCE PERSONNEL, IT WAS SUGGESTED THAT THE CREW MANUALLY PUMP THE GEAR DOWN. THIS PROCEDURE DID GIVE A "LOCKED DOWN" INDICATION. THE CREW THEN DECLARED AN EMERGENCY AS A PRECAUTION AND LANDED WITHOUT INCIDENT IN SPI. THIS INCIDENT IS BEING CLOSED WITH THIS REPORT.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
