## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-5)AEROSTAR N6073A WAS LANDING ON RUNWAY 22 AT THE CATALINA ISLAND AIRPORT. UPON TOUCH DOWN, THE AIRCRAFT APPARENTLY WAS CAUGHT IN A WINDSHEAR OR DOWN DRAFT WHICH DROPPED THE AIRCRAFT HARDER THAN NORMAL. NO PROBLEM WAS NOTED ON THE LANDING ROLL, UNTIL TAXI OFF THE RUNWAY, WHEN THE AIRCRAFT WOULD NOT RESPOND TO THE AIRCRAFT STEERING COMMANDS. AIRCRAFT PULLED TO THE LEFT AND INTO THE DIRT AREA NEXT TO THE RUNWAY. AIRPORT OPERATIONS CONFIRMED ONLY MINOR DAMAGE TO THE AIRCRAFT AND NO INJURIES TO THE PILOT OR PASSENGERS.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
