## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) DURING LANDING ROLL OUT THE NOSE GEAR COLLAPSED. PILOT STATEMENT REVEALED NOTHING EXTRAORDINARY ABOUT THE LANDING, JUST THAT THE NOSE GEAR COLLAPSED ON ROLL OUT. ALONG WITH THE WRITTEN STATEMENT PROVIDED BY MR. SPIEGEL HE ALSO SENT COPIES OF PHOTO'S TAKEN OF AIRCRAFT AND NOSE LANDING GEAR DRAG BRACE. EXAMINATION OF THE DRAG BRACE PHOTO INDICATE THAT THE PART FAILED AS A RESULT OF SIDE LOADING, NOT A METALLURGICAL FAILURE AS MR. SPIEGEL HAD SUGGESTED. ACCORDING TO REPORTS FILED BY SBA TOWER PERSONNEL AT THE SCENE OF THE INCIDENT WINDS WERE 240 AT 12 KNOTS. THE AIRCRAFT LANDED ON RUNWAY 15R WITH A 12 KNOT CROSS WIND WHICH IS WELL WITHIN THE LANCAIR CROSS WIND CAPABILTY. ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
