## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

ACFT SUSTAINED SUBSTANTIAL DAMAGE ON LANDING, OTHER CIRCUMSTANCES ARE UNKNOWN. (-23)PILOT PARKS STATED THAT HE WAS ATTEMPTING TO LAND ON HIS PRIVATE AIRSTRIP WHEN HE EXPERIENCED A HARD LANDING. THE ARICRAFT BOUNCED AND HE ATTEMPTED A GO-AROUND BUT COULD NOT GET ENOUGH AIRSPEED TO CLEAR THE TREES AT THE END OF THE AIRPORT. DURING A TURN TO AVIOD THE TREES THE LEFT WING STRUCK THE GROUND. THE AIRCRAFT SUSTAINED SUBSTANTIAL DAMAGE TO THE WING AND THE FUSELAGE SEPARATED BEHIND THE COCKPIT. PILOT PARKS AND HIS PASSENGER RECEIVED MINOR INJURIES.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB SEA99LA110](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/SEA99LA110), Jul 6, 1999: Parks RV-6 (N80274), Hunters, WA, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot's failure to maintain adequate airspeed during an attempted go-around.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
