## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

ON JULY 9, 1999, APPROXIMATELY 1900 CDT, BAE HAWKER 800A, N747UP, EXPERIENCED A FAILURE OF THE MLG EXTENSION SYSTEM ON APPROACH TO OMAHA, NE EPPLEY AIRFIELD (OMA) WHILE ENROUTE FROM PORTLAND, OR. THE PIC DECLARED AN EMERGENCY AND EXPERIENCED A FAILURE OF THE MANUAL EXTENSION SYSTEM. SEVERAL ADDITIONAL CYCLES WERE REQUIRED TO ATTAIN A NORMAL INDICATION. THE AIRCRAFT LANDED WITHOUT FURTHER INCIDENT. SUBSEQUENT INVESTIGATION FAILED TO DISCLOSE A MALFUNCTION. THE MLG DOOR LINKAGE, PN: 258UM79-119, WAS REPLACED AS A PRECAUTION. THE AIRCRAFT WILL BE FERRIED TO SPRINGFIELD, IL FOR FURTHER INVESTIGATION.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
