## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

JULY 12, 1999, AT APPROXIMATELY 18:36 CDT, N7TE, A MOONEY M20B AIRCRAFT, LANDING GEAR COLLAPSED UPON LANDING AT (RVS) RICHARD LLOYD JONES AIRPORT, TULSA, OK. DURING A TELEPHONE CALL 8/4/1999, WITH MR. DODSON, HE SAID HE THINKS HE DID NOT PROPERLY PLACE THE LANDING GEAR CONTROL HANDLE IN THE EXTENDED POSITION, FAILING TO LOCK THE GEAR DOWN. MR. DODSON SAID HE RECENTLY PURCHASED THIS AIRCRAFT. IT HAS MANUALLY OPERATED LANDING GEAR RETRACTION SYSTEM. IT IS OPERATED BY USING A LONG HANDLE AND REQUIRES PLACING THE HANDLE IN A DETENT UPON RETRACTING OR EXTENDING THE GEAR. THE LANDING GEAR WAS EXTENDED AFTER THE LANDING INCIDENT, BEFORE MOVING THE AIRCRAFT. THE MECHANISM HAS NOT BEEN INSPECTED FOR DEFECTS. ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
