## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) ON JULY 21, 1999, AT 1110 EDT, A BEECHCRAFT B-55 OWNED BY BARON COLEMILL, INC. AND PILOTED BY FITZWILLIAM W. KING JR., LOST ELECTRICAL POWER WHILE RECEIVING VECTORS AT CAPITAL CITY AIRPORT, NEW CUMBERLAND, PA. MARGINAL VFR CONDITIONS PREVAILED FOR THE PART 91, IFR FLIGHT FROM GREENVILLE, SC TO CAPITAL CITY. THE PILOT DECLARED AN EMERGENCY, BUT LANDED WITHOUT INCIDENT. A MANUAL GEAR EXTENSION WAS COMPLETED. FURTHER INVESTIGATION REVEALED THAT THE NUMBER ONE ALTERNATOR FIELD WINDINGS WERE SHORTED OUT, THE NUMBER 2 ALTERNATOR FIELD TERMINAL WIRE WAS BROKEN. AN M OR D REPORT WILL FOLLOW. THIS INCIDENT IS CONSIDERED CLOSED.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
