## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) THE PILOT STATED HE FLARED HIGH AND LANDED HARD AT BILLINGS, MONTANA. WHEN THE AIRCRAFT CAME IN CONTACT WITH THE RUNWAY, THE NOSE WHEEL TIRE BLEW OUT AND THE PROP HIT THE GROUND. THE AIRCRAFT THEN PORPOISED AND ON THE SECOND LANDING, THE NOSE WHEEL RIM BROKE. HE STOPPED THE AIRCRAFT AND THEN TRIED TO TAXI BUT COULDN'T. AT THAT TIME, THE TOWER TOLD HIM TO SHUT DOWN AND THEY WOULD GET SOMEONE TO TOW HIM IN.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
