## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) BRANTLY B2-B, N2182U SUSTAINED MINOR DAMAGE AFTER AN AUTOROTATION INTO A CORN FIELD ON JULY 27, 1999. THE PIC, GARY D. EDDY, AND ONE PASSENGER WERE NOT INJURED. MR. EDDY REPORTED THAT HE HAD DEPARTED THE NEILSVILLE, WISCONSIN AIRPORT AND IN A CLIMB AT ABOUT 400 FEET AGL THE ENGINE LOST OIL PRESSURE AND QUIT. HE STATED BECAUSE OF THE TALL CORN, HIS FLARE WAS SLIGHTLY HIGH AND THE AIRCRAFT SETTLED TO THE GROUND TIPPING ON ITS RIGHT SIDE. THE BUBBLE AND ROTOR BLADES SUSTAINED MINOR DAMAGE. THIS REPORT WILL BE AMENDED WHEN THE RESULTS OF AN ENGINE TEAR DOWN ARE RECEIVED.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
