## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) AT CRUISE THE RIGHT ENGINE STEADILY LOST POWER AND WAS SHUT DOWN. THE PILOT DECLARED AN EMERGENCY AND RETURNED TO THE AIRPORT. WHILE RETURNING, THE PILOT RESTARTED THE ENGINE AS REQUESTED BY MAINTENANCE AND LANDED WITHOUT INCIDENT. MAINTENANCE FOUND AND REPLACED AN EXCESSIVELY WORN AND LOOSE 10/32 INDUCTION CLAMP NUT WHICH ALLOWED INDUCTION AIR PRESSURE TO ESCAPE CAUSING AN EXCESSIVELY RICH FUEL MIXTURE. AFTER MAINTENANCE, WHILE CLIMBING DURING THE SECOND DEPARTURE, THE ENGINE AGAIN LOST POWER BUT WAS NOT SHUT DOWN. THE PILOT DECLARED AN EMERGENCY AND LANDED AT RIFLE, CO. (RIL). MAINTENANCE FOUND THAT THE SAME CLAMP HAD BROKEN DUPLICATING THE SAME SCENARIO. THE CLAMP WAS REPLACED AND NO FURTHER PROBLEMS WERE EXPERIENCED.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
