## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) CE-185 FLOWN BY MR. THOMAS HRON WAS UNABLE TO EXTEND LANDING GEAR FROM WIPLINE AMPHIBIAN FLOATS (SN: 37203 & 37204) DUE TO A RUPTURED HYDRAULIC HOSE IN THE GEAR HOUSING. MR. HRON CIRCLED THE AIRPORT WHILE AIRPORT FIRE DEPARTMENTS SPRAYED WATER ON A GRASS AREA ADJACENT TO THE MAIN RUNWAY. MR. HRON THEN COMPLETED A GEAR UP LANDING ON THE WET GRASS. NO DAMAGE TO THE WIPLINE FLOATS OCCURRED. HYDRAULIC HOSE AND ALL ADJACENT HOSES WERE REPLACED BY AERO TWIN, INC. ON MERRILL FIELD, AK. VERIFIED ALL HOSES WERE REPLACED WITH MR. JEFF JONES OF AERO TWIN, INC. CONDUCTED RAMP INSPECTION OF AIRCRAFT ON SEPTEMBER 15, 1999 AND VERIFIED THAT NO DAMAGE WAS SUSTAINED DURING THE GEAR UP LANDING.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
