AT THE TIME OF THE ACCIDENT THE WIND WAS OUT OF THE SOUTH/SOUTHWEST AT APPROX. 10-15 MPH. THE PILOT APPARENTLY EXECUTED A GO-AROUND. ## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB CHI99LA280](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/CHI99LA280), Aug 7, 1999: Mooney M20J (N11652), Gainesville, MO, destroyed. Probable cause: the inadequate preflight planning/preparation by the pilot and all available runway exceeded by the pilot. The trees and power lines were contributing factors.

## Other reports on N11652 (1)

Matched to the same aircraft by N-number and date.

- [Accident 19880705025599A](https://openairdocs.org/incident/19880705025599A), Jul 5, 1988: Mooney M20J (N11652), Thief River Fal, MN, Substantial damage. Crosswind gust caused a wing to hit ground on landing. Aircraft ground looped. Exceeded crosswind component.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
