## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) ON AUGUST 7, 1999, AT APPROX. 1615 PDT, A CESSNA 152, N68791, OPERATED BY MR. RICHARD CRAIG MOORE, A CERTIFICATED PRIVATE PILOT, MADE AN EMERGENCY LANDING AT MOFFETT FAF, CA (KNUQ) SHORT OF RUNWAY 32R. ON APPROACH TO LANDING THE AIRCRAFT STRUCK THE APPROACH LIGHTS CAUSING MINOR DAMAGE TO THE AIRCRAFT. MR. MOORE WAS CONDUCTING A THREE LEG FIGHT. HE DEPARTED PAO AIRPORT, ENROUTE TO MCE, THEN SNS, AND RETURN TO PAO. THERE WAS NO ADDITIONAL FUEL OBTAINED FROM ANY LOCATION (PILOT STATEMENT). A VISUAL INSPECTION OF THE AIRCRAFT FUEL TANKS WAS MADE AND EVIDENCE OF NO REMAINING FUEL ON THE AIRCRAFT. THIS REPORT FORWARDED TO OPERATIONS UNIT, SJC FSDO, FOR FURTHER ACTION.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
