## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) THE AIRCRAFT HAD DEPARTED A PRIVATE AIRSTRIP ON HWY 70E SOUTHEAST OF DURANT, OK. THE AIRCRAFT WAS REPORTED TO BE ON AN EAST HEADING FOLLOWING THE HIGHWAY. EYEWITNESSES OBSERVED THE AIRCRAFT AT ABOUT 200 FEET WHEN THEY REPORTED THAT THE WINGS FOLDED AND THE AIRCRAFT FLEW STRAIGHT DOWN. THE ACCIDENT SITE DID NOT INDICATE THAT THERE WAS AN AIRFRAME FAILURE. THE PROPELLER HAD FABRIC WRAPPED AROUND THE HUB AND THE BLADES WERE BROKEN OFF DOWN TO THE HUBS. From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
