## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB NYC99LA202](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/NYC99LA202), Aug 15, 1999: Mooney M20E (N3243F), Prattsburg, NY, destroyed. Probable cause: Propeller blade separation, resulting from fatigue cracking initiated by intergranular corrosion. A factor was the lack of propeller blade corrosion inspection requirements.

## Other reports on N3243F (1)

Matched to the same aircraft by N-number and date.

- [Incident 19910106001789I](https://openairdocs.org/incident/19910106001789I), Jan 6, 1991: Mooney M20E (N3243F), Rochester, NH. Fuel exhaustion on a test flight. Landed safely. Unable to turn fuel selector valve. Excessive valve corrosion.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
