## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

ACFT WAS INVOLVED IN AERIAL APPLICATION WHEN ITS TAIL SECTION STRUCK A POWER LINE, THE ACFT STRUCK THE GROUND, AND ROLLED OVER, OTHER CIRCUMSTANCES ARE UNKNOWN. (-23) OPERATOR WAS SPRAYING FIELD FROM SOUTH TO NORTH. AT THE END OF THE FIELD THE OPERATOR WENT UNDER A 28 FOOT CLEARANCE POWER LINE. THE BOTTOM LINE CAUGHT THE VERTICAL STABILIZER CAUSING THE AIRCRAFT TO BECOME UNCONTROLLABLE. THE AIRCRAFT IMPACTED THE TERRAIN APPROX. 150 FEET FROM THE POWERLINE. THE A/C CAME TO REST APPROX. 214 FEET FROM THE POWERLINE. THE PILOT WAS SERIOUSLY INJURED AND THE A/C WAS DESTROYED.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB CHI99LA303](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/CHI99LA303), Aug 19, 1999: Cessna A188B (N136MC), Seward, NE, destroyed. Probable cause: the pilot's failure to maintain clearance from the power line. A factor relating to this accident was the power line.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
