## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

ON MONDAY, AUGUST 23, 1999, A GRUMMAN TIGER AA-5B, ON A TRIP FROM THE PHILADELPHIA AREA TO A PRIVATE FIELD IN UPSTATE NEW YORK MADE AN EMERGENCY LANDING AT DANSVILLE, NEW YORK DUE TO A ROUGH RUNNING ENGINE. THE AIRCRAFT LANDED WITHOUT INCIDENT. MAINTENANCE AT DANSVILLE FOUND A #3 CYLINDER EXHAUST VALVE FAILURE. MAINTENANCE REPLACED HE #3 CYLINDER AND PERFORMED A RUN-UP CHECK AND RETURNED THE AIRCRAFT TO SERVICE. THIS INCIDENT IS CONSIDERED CLOSED.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
