## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23)AIRCRAFT WAS AT CRUISE ALTITUDE OVER LAKE ONTARIO. AIRCRAFT THEN CUT POWER AND DESCENDED TO 1100 FT. WHEN THE PILOT INCREASED THE THROTTLE ENGINE WOULD NOT RESPOND. THE PILOT TRIED TO INCREASE THE THROTTLE AGAIN AND THE ENGINE STALLED. THE PILOT THEN SET UP FOR AN EMERGENCY LANDING. THE PILTO STATED THAT HE DID NOT EXTEND FLAPS AND ON FINAL APPROACH OVER A FARMERS HAY FIELD THE WING STALLED RESULTING IN AIRCRAFT FALLING OUT OF THE AIR CAUSING SUBSTANTIAL DAMAGE TO AIRCRAFT AND SERIOUS INJURY TO THE PILOT.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB NYC99LA209](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/NYC99LA209), Aug 24, 1999: Morrisey 2150A (N312BW), Ellisburg, NY, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot's delay in applying carburetor heat which resulted in the loss of power, and his misjudgment of the flare during the forced landing.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
