## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) PILOT REPORTED THAT DURING A SPRAYING OPERATION THE ENGINE BEGAN TO RUN ROUGH RESULTING IN LOW POWER AND BACKFIRE. THE PILOT STARTED TO RETURN TO THE AIRPORT AND REALIZED THE AIRCRAFT WOULD NOT MAKE IT. THE REMAINING LOAD WAS DUMPED AND AN EMERGENCY LANDING WAS MADE IN A NEARBY FIELD. ON LANDING ROLL OUT, THE AIRCRAFT WENT OVER A ROAD AND A DITCH AND SLOWLY FLIPPED OVER. THE PILOT WAS NOT INJURED AND DAMAGE TO THE AIRCRAFT WAS LIMITED TO THE PROPELLER AND MINOR SKIN DAMAGE. INSPECTION OF THE ENGINE SHOWED A FAILURE OF ONE CYLINDER EXHAUST VALVE ROCKER ARM.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
