## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

THE PILOT WAS DOING STEP TURNS AND POWER OFF STALLS. PILOT DECIDED TO DO A POWER ON STALL. AFTER THE NOSE DROPPED THE ENGINE LOST POWER AND STARTED RUNNING ROUGH. PILOT TRIED TO RECOVER POWER BUT COULD NOT. HEADED BACK TO THE A/P AND DECIDED HE WAS NOT GOING TO MAKE THE A/P. PILOT DECIDED TO LAND ON HIGHWAY ABOUT 1 1/2 MILES FROM A/P. PILOT LANDED WITHOUT ANY INJURIES OR DAMAGE TO AIRCRAFT AND GROUND AREA.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
