## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

AIRCRAFT N936CA DECLARED AN EMERGENCY, AND LANDED AT INDIANAPOLIS, INDIANA INTERNATION AIRPORT. PILOT LOGBOOK WRITEUP STATED: "ON CLIMB OUT AUTOPILOT WAS ENGAGED AND HAD AN AUTOPILOT PITCH TRIM AND NOSE DOWN MESSAGE COME ON. THE COPILOT DISCONNECTED THE AUTOPILOT AND HAD TO USE STRONG FORWARD PRESSURE TO KEEP THE AIRCRAFT FROM CLIMBING RAPIDLY. THE STAB MACH TRIM COULD NOT BE TRIMMED BELOW 3 DEGREES ON THE EICAS." MAINTENANCE CAME FROM CINCINNATI, OHIO TO REPAIR THE BROKEN STAB TRIM ACTUATOR THAT HAD FAILED AND THE AIRCRAFT HAS BEEN RETURNED TO SERVICE. THE OPERATOR IS REQUIRED TO SUBMIT A MECHANICAL INTERRUPTION SUMMARY REPORT.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
