## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

ON SEPTEMBER 7, 1999 AT APPROXIMATELY 2045Z MR. VICTOR LARGER WAS PRACTICING TOUCH-AND-GO LANDINGS AT TMB AND EXPERIENCED A COMPLETE ELECTRICAL POWER FAILURE DURING TAKEOFF. HE TRIED TO COMMUNICATE WITH ATC VIA RADIO AND USING TRANSPONDER CODES 7600/7700 WITH NO RESULTS. HE DECIDED TO FLY BACK TO HIS HOME BASE AT OPF AND PERFORMED A MANUAL GEAR EXTENSION. DURING LANDING AT RUNWAY 9L THE LANDING GEAR COLLAPSED CAUSING DAMAGE TO THE PROPELLER AND THE BOTTOM OF THE FUSELAGE. THE MASTER C/B WAS FOUND TRIPPED AND ELECTRICAL POWER WAS RESTORED WHEN IT WAS PUSHED BACK IN. A FUSEHOLDER WITHA BLOWN FUSE WAS ALSO FOUND CONNECTED TO THE MAIN BATTERY CONTACTOR TERMINALS. THE NOSE GEAR WAS MANUALLY EXTENDED AT THIS SITE, BUT IT DID NOT LOCK PROPERLY.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
