## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) ON FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 10, 1999, AT 0002 LOCAL, DURING CRUISE INBOUND TO BUFFALO NIAGARA INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT, CALA FLIGHT 1790 EXPERIENCED AN ILLUMINATION OF THE "LOW HYDRAULIC PRESSURE" LIGHT ON THE ANUNCIATOR PANEL. THE LANDING AT BUF WAS WITHOUT INCIDENT WITH THE LEFT HAND HYDRAULIC PUMPS TURNED OFF PER THE ABNORMAL CHECKLIST. THE AIRCRAFT TAXIED TO THE GATE. CONTRACT MAINTENANCE WAS SUMMONED AND FOUND THE NUMBER ONE ENGINE HYDRAULIC PUMP TO BE INOPERATIVE. A SERVICEABLE UNIT WAS BORROWED FROM USAIRWAYS AND WAS INSTALLED PER MD80 MAINTENANCE MANUAL 29-10-05. THE HYDRAULIC QUANTITY WAS SERVICED AND THE ENGINE RUN FOR A LEAK CHECK. THE AIRCRAFT WAS RETURNED TO SERVICE. THE INCIDENT IS CONSIDERED CLOSED.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
