## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) PIC MATT RILEY WAS PERFORMING TOUCH AND GOES WHEN HE SIMULATED AN ENGINE OUT FAILURE WHILE DEPARTING TRACY WITH STUDENT, HUNG CHUANG. BOTH PILOT AND STUDENT STATED THEY HAD NO INDICATION OF A GEAR FAILURE. ALL SYSTEMS INDICATED GEAR DOWN AND LOCKED. THEY CLAIM TO HAVE CHECKED GEAR LIGHTS ON THREE (3) SEPARATE OCCASIONS. PIC CLAIMS TO HAVE SEEN STUDENT HOLD GEAR HANDLE DOWN. AIRCRAFT LANDED GEAR UP. SKIDDED TO A STOP, AIRCRAFT SUSTAINED MINOR DAMAGE.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
