## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) ON TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 14, 1999, N7SN, A CE-550 OPERATED BY SEVENSON ENVIRONMENTAL WAS ENROUTE FROM IAG TO LOT WHEN APPROXIMATELY 50 MILES WEST OF IAG THE LEFT ENGINE QUIT. THE ONLY INDICATION WAS THE MASTER CAUTION LIGHT. THE CREW ATTEMPTED A RESTART, BUT TO NO AVAIL. THE AIRCRAFT RETURNED TO IAG WITHOUT FURTHER INCIDENT. THE ENGINE WAS CHANGED AT IAG AND THE "OFF" UNIT SENT TO DALLAS AIRMOTIVE WHERE TEARDOWN WAS WITNESSED BY FAA PERSONNEL. THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE WAS DETERMINED TO BE FAILURE OF P/N 3029390 BEVEL GEAR. THE SERVICE BULLETIN HISTORY OF THE ENGINE WAS CURRENT. FAA INSPECTOR WILLIAM C. NELSON INSTRUCTED THE REPAIR STATION TO FILL OUT A MALFUNCTION AND DEFECT REPORT. THIS INCIDENT IS CONSIDERED CLOSED.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
