## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) UPS 2920, DC-8, FLEW FROM ALBUQUERQUE, NM, TO ONTARIO, CA, DELCARED AN EMERGENCY PRIOR TO LANDING ONTARIO INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT DUE TO HYDRAULIC FAILURE. THE FAILURE WAS ATTRIBUTED TO A HYDRAULIC PRESSURE LINE THAT BECAME CHAFFED FROM RUBBING AGAINST THE BLEED AIR CONTROL VALVE INSIDE OF ENGINE PYLON. THIS CHAFFING CAUSED THE HARD PRESSURE LINE TO LEAK UNDER PRESSURE LINE TO LEAK UNDER PRESSURE AND DEPLENTISHED THE HYDRAULIC RESEVOIR SYSTEM. UPS REPLACED THE HARD HYDRAULIC LINE AND SUBMITTED A MAINTENANCE RELIABILITY REPORT.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
