## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) ON TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 22, 1999 AT APPROX. 1100 LOCAL, MR. WALTER EXPERIENCED AN ALTERNATOR FAILURE AT 6000' CRUISE IN A BE-36, N2032K. FLIGHT CONDITIONS WERE IMC. MR. NEWTON REPORTED THAT BATTERY POWER LASTED FOR APPROX. 10 MINUTES AFTER WHICH HE CONTINUED FLYING BY COMPASS UNTIL REACHING VMC CONDITIONS. MR. NEWTON THEN FOUND ELMIRA CORNING REGIONAL AIRPORT VISUALLY, RECEIVED LIGHT SIGNALS AND LANDED WITHOUT FURTHER INCIDENT. THIS INCIDENT IS CONSIDERED CLOSED.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
