STUDENT PIC WAS INTERVIEWED, AND FOUND THAT HE HAD BOUNCED DURING LANDING ON HIS THIRD SUPERVISED SOLO, HEARD A THUMP, WENT AROUND AND THEN LANDED NORMALLY AND TAXIED TO THE RAMP. THE NOSE LANDING GEAR SHOCK RING APPEARS TO HAVE COME OFF DURING LANDING, ALLOWING THE LANDING GEAR TO TRAVEL BEYOND ITS DESIGNED TRAVEL LIMITS, WHICH CAUSED THE DAMAGE TO THE FIREWALL, NOSE LANDING GEAR SURROUNDING STRUCTURE AND PROPELLER TIPS.
