## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^ THE LANDING GEAR WAS CYCLED SEVERAL TIMES, BUT THE NOSE GEAR REMAINED IN ITS WHEEL WELL. THE MAIN LANDING GEAR OPERATED NORMALLY. THE AIRCRAFT EXECUTED A LANDING AT NEWPORT WITH THE NOSE LANDING GEAR RETRACTED. THE PILOT MANAGED TO TOUCH DOWN ON THE MAINS, AND GENTLY LOWER THE NOSE OF THE AIRCRAFT TO THE RUNWAY. DAMAGE CONSISTED OF BROKEN NOSE LANDING GEAR DOORS, A SCUFFED LOWER COWLING, AND THE LAST SIX INCHES OF THE PROPELLER TIPS CURLED BACK. WHEN THE AIRCRAFT'S NOSE WAS LIFTED FROM THE RUNWAY, THE NOSE LANDING GEAR EXTENDED BY ITSELF WITH LITTLE COAXING.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
