## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

THE AIRCRAFT SPEED WAS TOO HIGH AT LANDING CAUSING THE AIRCRAFT TO GO OFF THE END OF RUNWAY 9 AND INTO A RETENSION DITCH. THE NOSE GEAR SHEARED OFF AND THE PROPELLER WAS BENT CAUSING SUDDEN STOPPAGE. VISUAL METEORLOGICAL CONDITIONS PREVAILED AT THE TIME AND NO IFR FLIGHT PLAN WAS FILED. THE AIRCRAFT WAS DAMAGED AND THERE WERE NO INJURIES. THE FLIGHT ORIGINATED AT (ITH) ITHACA, NEW YORK, ON OCTOBER 12, 1999, AT APPROX. 12:20 LOCAL TIME.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
