## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) THE PILOT STATED THAT HE WAS DOWN AND ON ROLLOUT WHEN A GUST OF WIND HIT HIM FROM THE RIGHT SIDE. HE TRIED TO CONTROL THE A/C BUT IT GROUND LOOPED AND THE LEFT GEAR COLLAPSED, ENDING UP SIDEWAYS IN THE MIDDLE OF THE RUNWAY.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB SEA00LA003](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/SEA00LA003), Oct 21, 1999: Maule M-5-235C (N6147M), Laurel, MT, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot's inadequate compensation for wind conditions. Factors include a dust devil/whirlwind at the location where the pilot was trying to land.

## Other reports on N6147M (1)

Matched to the same aircraft by N-number and date.

- [Incident 19820613040389I](https://openairdocs.org/incident/19820613040389I), Jun 13, 1982: Maule M5235C (N6147M), Big Lake, AK, Minor damage. Selected water area too small for landing. Damaged float and wing tip.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
