## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) AFTER A LOCAL FLIGHT, THE PILOT WAS TAXIING BACK TO THE RAMP AFTER DARK. BECAUSE OF CONSTRUCTION AT THE AIRPORT, HE KNEW THAT HE HAD TO CROSS A DIRT BRIDGE ACROSS A TRENCH TO GET TO THE RAMP. HE STOPPED TO DETERMINE EXACTLY WHERE THE BRIDGE WAS. IT WAS NOT LIGHTED. WHILE ON THE BRIDGE, THE RIGHT WHEEL SLID INTO THE TRENCH. THE PROP HIT THE ASPHALT AT THE FAR EDGE OF THE TRENCH. THE RAMP AND TRENCH WERE IN A NON MOVEMENT AREA. SEE #40 FOR CORRECTIVE ACTION EXPLANATION.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
