## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

ALASKA AIRLINES FLIGHT 73, WAS LANDING ON RUNWAY 8 AT THE JUNEAU AIRPORT. WEATHER WAS VFR, BUT IT WAS DRAK, EARLY MORNING. THE JNU AFSS WAS PROVIDING LOCAL AIRPORT ADVISORY SERVICE WHILE THE JNU ATCT WAS CLOSED. DURING THIS TIME, AN AIRFIELD MAINTENANCE SNOWPLOW WAS WORKING ON THE RUNWAY DOING TRAINING IN PREPARATION FOR WINTER ACTIVITY. FLIGHT 73 DID NOT REQUEST, AND IDI NOT RECEIVE, AN AIRPORT ADVISORY. ADDITIONALLY, THEY DID NOT BROADCAST THIER POSITION OR LANDING INFORMATION WITHIN 20 MILES OF THE JNU AIRPORT. AS A RESULT, THEIR JET NARROWLY AVOIDED A COLLISION WITH THE SNOWPLOW OPERATING ON THE RUNWAY.
