## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) ON NOVEMBER 9, 1999, A TOWER AIR MECHANIC (ZAHID MIAN) WAS SEVERELY INJURED WHILE PERFORMING MAINTENANCE ON TOWER AIRCRAFT N610FF AT AL KHARJI, SAUDI ARABIA. THE INJURIES WERE THE RESULT OF AN APPARENT UNCOMMANDED MOVEMENT OF THE LEFT WING IN BOARD LEADING EDGE DEVISE. THE LEADING EDGE DEVISE RETRACTED CRUSHING MR. MIAN. TOWER AIR PERSONNEL EXTENDING THE LEADING EDGE THEREBY RELEASING MR. MIAN WHERE HE THEN RECEIVED MEDICAL ATTENTION. FAA INVESTIGATION IS IN PROGRESS AT THIS TIME.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
