## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(23) DURING A PRACTICAL TEST FOR COMMERCIAL PILOT CERTIFICATION, APPLICANT FAILED TO EXTEND LANDING GEAR PRIOR TO LANDING. THE GEAR UP CONFIGURATION WAS NOT RECOGNIZED BY EITHER THE APPLICANT OR THE DESIGNATED PILOT EXAMINER CONDUCTING THE TEST. AS THE AIRCRAFT APPEARED IN CLOSER PROXIMITY TO THE RUNWAYS THAN FOR A NORMAL TOUCHDOWN, THE PILOT EXAMINER APPLIED POWER IN ORDER TO KEEP THE AIRCRAFT AIRBORNE LONG ENOUGH TO EXTEND THE LANDING GEAR. A COMPLETE GEAR UP LANDING DID NOT OCCURR, AND DAMAGE WAS LIMITED TP BENT PROPELLER TIPS, AND MINOR DAMAGE TO THE LEFT FLAP. ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
