## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB FTW00FA035](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/FTW00FA035), Nov 20, 1999: Piper PA-24-260 (N8825P), New Orleans, LA, destroyed, 4 fatal. Probable cause: the pilot's failure to maintain aircraft control which resulted in a stall/spin. A contributing factor was the dusk light condition.

Matched to the same aircraft by N-number and date.

- [Incident 19830518024339I](https://openairdocs.org/incident/19830518024339I), May 18, 1983: Piper PA24260 (N8825P), Jenks, OK, Minor damage. Nose and right main gears collapsed on touch and go. Damage indicates gear selected to up position. Then returned.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong.
