## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) DURING DESCENT FOR THE BALLOON LANDING, THE PILOT STATED THE WINDS WERE CALM. HOWEVER, AT APPROXIMATELY 50 FEET ABOVE THE TREES, THEY ENCOUNTERED A STRONG WIND SHEAR 90 DEGREES FROM THE (RIGHT) DIRECTION OF MOVEMENT. THE BALLOON PARTIALLY COLLAPSED AND ASCENDED APPROXIMATELY 100 FEET THEN STARTED A FAST DESCENT. THE PILOT WAS ABLE TO USE THE BURNER DURING DESCENT, HOWEVER THE BASKED AND ENVELOPE DESCENDED INTO TREES CAUSING MINOR DAMAGE TO THE ENVELOPE. THERE WAS NO DAMAGE TO THE BASKET OR INJURY TO PILOT OR PASSENGER.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
