## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) MR. HANES STATED THAT HE WAS FLYING HIS AIRCRAFT FROM TUCSON, AZ TO BURBVANK, CA AND ENROUTE APPROXIMATELY 30 MILES EAST OF BURBANK AIRPORT (BUR) WHEN APPROACH CONTROL ASKED HIM TO DEVIATE TOWARD THE SOUTH. HE EXPLAINED TO THEM THAT HE'D RATHER NOT GO FAR OFF A DIRECT COURSE TO BUR BECAUSE FUEL MAY BE A PROBLEM. HE DID NOT DECLARE AN EMERGENCY OR PRIORITY HANDLING. DURING THE TELEPHONE INTERVIEW WITH MR. HAYNES, I FOUND HIS PREFLIGHT PLANNING AND HIS FLIGHT PERFORMANCE APPARENTLY SATISFACTORY. HE LANDED WITH MORE THAN THE REGULATORY REQUIREMENTS FOR VFR RESERVES. THERE WAS NO APPARENT COMPROMISE WITH SAFETY IN THIS INCIDENT AND THIS FILE IS BEING CLOSED WITH NO FURTHER ACTION NOR COMMENT.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
