## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) ON DECEMBER 9, 1999 A CESSNA 150, N6854G, DEPARTED LOUISVILLE, KY BOWMAN FIELD (LOU) FOR A LOCAL PLEASURE FLIGHT WITH TWO OCCUPANTS ABOARD. THE PILOT STATED THAT AFTER REDUCING POWER ON THE DOWNWIND LEG DURING THE APPROACH TO LANDING PHASE, THAT THE ENGINE BEGAN TO RUN ROUGH AND SUBSEQUENTLY LOST POWER AS HE INITIATED THE BASE LEG. THE PILOT PERFORMED AN EMERGENCY CHECK OF MIXTURE, FUEL SELECTION AND ASSOCIATED SYSTEMS. THE ENGINE DID NOT RESPOND AND THE PILOT OPTED TO MAKE AN EMERGENCY LANDING ON A GOLF COURSE ADJACENT TO THE AIRPORT. THE PILOT WAS ABLE TO LAND WITHOUT SUSTAINING ANY DAMAGE TO THE AIRCRAFT OR ITS OCCUPANTS.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
