THE A/C STRUCK A SECOND SET OF POWER LINES AND CRASHED IN A RESIDENTIAL AREA OF THE CITY OF BIG LAKE, TX. THE A/C YAWED TO THE LEFT DURING THE GO-AROUND AND THE DIRECTION OF TRAVEL AT IMPACT WAS APPROXIMATELY 90 DEGREES TO THE RUNWAY HEADING, INDICATING A LOSS OF DIRECTIONAL CONTROL. THE A/C WAS BELIEVED TO BE ON A CROSS COUNTRY FLIGHT FROM THE PHOENIX, AZ AREA TO THE HOUSTON, TX. AREA. A FUEL STOP WAS MADE AT SANTA THERESA, NEW MEXICO PRIOR TO THE ARRIVAL AT BIG LAKE, TX, WHICH WAS ALSO INTENDED AS A FUEL STOP. PILOT NARDIZZI, WHO IS A FLIGHT INSTRUCTOR, WAS FLYING FROM THE RIGHT SEAT. BOTH PILOTS RECEIVED NUMBEROUS BROKEN BONES AND SEVERE BURNS AS A RESULT OF THE ACCIDENT.
