## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) DURING NORMAL BANNER TOWING OPERATIONS THE TOW ROPE RELEASED, WITHOUT PILOT MANUALLY RELEASING IT. THE BANNER AND TOW LINE LANDED IN THE PARKING LOT OF PSI NET STADIUM, SLIGHT DAMAGING AN UNOCCUPIED CAR. THE HITCH AND RELEASE MECHANISM WAS INSPECTED AND CHECKED FOR OPERATION, WITH NO DEFECTS NOTED. THE OPERATOR STATED THE HE PLACE A PIECE OF ELECTRICAL TAPE AROUND THE TOW HITCH IN THE FUTURE. THIS WILL MAKE THE HITCH MORE SECURE AND STILL ALLOW MANUAL RELEASE.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
